This summer: guest speakers at the #OTRHub!

OTR’s Hubs provide a space to drop-in and chat about all things wellbeing – and also to navigate the groups and support on offer not only from OTR, but from other places around Bristol and South Glos too.

This summer, we’re really pleased to welcome some friends from other organisations into the Bristol Hubs. Here’s our schedule for the next few weeks:

NCS – 11th June

15-17? Need something to do this summer? NCS is a 3-4 week experience that helps build confidence and self belief. Come along to the OTR Hub to hear from the NCS team about living away from home, developing skills and meeting amazing people.

Bike Maintenance – 2nd July, 16th July

Having access to a bike gives you an ability to address several areas of your wellbeing in one; physical health, mental health, transport, freedom and independence. In this Hub we’ll be demonstrating how to fix your bike for free, and gain skills to maintain your own bike and keep those wheels spinning!

Prince’s Trust – 4th June, 23rd June, 4th July

On these dates we welcome our friends from Prince’s Trust, who can give info and advice on how to get back on track and develop employment skills – and they’ll also explain their wide range of brilliant programs for young people. Look out for a CV writing workshop on the 23rd June!

16-25 Independent People – 7th July, 9th July

Come and meet the 16-25 Independent People team, who will give information on living independently and housing advice.

Body Positivity film screening – 9th July

Embrace is a documentary that explores the issues of body images and takes us on a journey towards self acceptance and love. The film explores one woman’s journey as she travels the globe talking to experts, women in the street and well-known personalities about the alarming rates of body image issues that are felt by people of all body types. Here at OTR, we want to support positive change in body image and wellbeing! There will be a discussion afterwards in which we want to hear your opinions on how we can do this. The last few tickets are available free here.

Empire Fighting Chance – 16th July

Join the Empire Fighting Chance team to find out more about using boxing as a therapeutic technique, and discuss interviews and CV building.

Milk For Tea – 21st July, 23rd July

Join us for workshops with Milk For Tea, discussing modern masculinity.

21st July (Saturday Hub) – 11am-12pm
23rd July (Monday Hub) – 5-6pm

Resilience Lab present: Surviving Summer – 11th August
