Over the past 12 months, Off The Record (Bristol) worked alongside a group of young women using a participatory action research approach.
Discussions around personal experiences, social conditions and its impact on mental health wellbeing informed the end product – a short film, entitled OFF COLOUR:
“We made our video to raise awareness for some of the factors that can cause bad mental health amongst young women of colour. We found that as a group most of us had not been given the opportunity to explore or even talk about racism, so we truly hope that our video can be used as a platform to encourage other young girls of colour to really question their experiences and the social conditions they are subjected to. hopefully this will be the start to a journey of self empowerment”
